Clinical Application:
Laser urology for Benign Prostate Hyperplasia
Related Keywords:
Benign prostate enlargement, Transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP), Prostate ablation
Medical device:
HPLAS II 1470nm+980nm 200W
Accessories:
600um side-fire fiberHook Shot fiber
Introduction and Operation procedure:
The Dual 980nm+1470nm laser could enable the ejaculation in internal structures of theprostate spared, so it is the very first time for laser method to prevent the so-calledretrograde ejaculation, particularly for middle-aged men between 40 and 50 years old whomay still have the wish to have children even if they are suffering from BPH.
The excellent hemostatic profile has a positive impact on the healing process: there isvirtually no loss of blood during and after procedure, and the internal tissue is spared. Thepatient experiences relief following the treatment and no longer feels the constant anduncomfortable urge to urinate.
Course of treatment:
1. The treatment commences by inserting Cystoscope containing the fiber through the urethra.
2. The head of the fiber is pushed out of the probe.
3. The dual laser of 980nm and/or 1470nm is discharged from the probe head.
4. The operator steers the probe, rotating it to ablate the tissue in a circular motion.
5. The funnel grows larger step by step and the probe is completely withdrawn from theprostate at the end.
6. Urine can once again flow off freely.
Advantage:
1. 980-nm diode laser offers a higher tissue ablation capacity and similar haemostasiscompared with the KTP laser.
2. In comparison with TURP, both tissue ablation and bleeding are significantly reduced.
3. Short recovery with a laser treatment.
Notices:
1. There are many fibers used for BPH treatment, we will suggest side-fire fibers or HookShot fiber from German fibers partners.
2. It is necessary to be trained before operating the surgery, GIGAA LASER will provideUrologist training in China or abroad.
